NotifyMD Selects Winthrop ,Maine
| | NotifyMD - 11/18/2008 | | | NotifyMD, a leading provider of comprehensive messaging services to physician offices nationwide, will open a new Care Coordination Center in Winthrop, creating hundreds of new jobs.
The Tennessee-based company currently has six contact centers nationwide, including a center in Farmington, Maine. The new Winthrop operations center at 1705 Route 202 will be NotifyMD's largest Care Coordination Center in the country employing 200 in the next two years.
Today, Maine Governor John Baldacci joined NotifyMD's management team, Maine & Company, Winthrop town leaders and members of the Kennebec Valley Council of Governments (KVCOG) to announce the arrival of NotifyMD to Winthrop. The company will lease 21,000 square feet of the Carleton Mills facility. (Picture above: NotifyMD CEO/President Gary Ferguson (left) and Maine & Company CEO/President Matt Jacobson.)
"We eagerly await the addition of our largest contact center to date in Winthrop, Maine. This center will support our strategy to alter traditional opt-in, population-focused disease management with little process and results transparency, to a fee-for-service, cost effective approach with complete accountability," said Dr. Gary Ferguson, President and CEO of NotifyMD.
"It is a testament to this strategy that NotifyMD enjoys unprecedented growth and is providing hundreds of new careers in Kennebec Valley and surrounding regions at a time when most companies are downsizing. It is also no coincidence that we meet this new challenge in Winthrop, Maine, having just capitalized on the strong work ethics and passion for excellence in Farmington, Maine, in less than two years."
"I am pleased that in less than 2 years, we've not only welcomed NotifyMD to the state, but are now celebrating its expansion to another Maine community," said Governor Baldacci. "NotifyMD chose Maine for their expansion for the very same reason they originally looked to our state - our quality workforce and Pine Tree Zone program incentives. Maine again competed in a national search for this new center, and certainly these factors as well as NotifyMD's experience in Maine helped put us ahead of the pack."
NotifyMD announced the opening of its Farmington facility in December of 2006, creating more than 100 new Maine jobs. The NotifyMD management team looked to replicate the success of the Farmington facility as the company continued to expand. After a nationwide search, the logical choice was Maine, according to Maine & Company President Matt Jacobson.
"The factors that made Maine a successful choice for NotifyMD's location in Farmington were the same selling points for NotifyMD as it considered the location for its seventh operations facility," said Jacobson. "NotifyMD selected Maine, again, because of the strength of the state's workforce, and the continued support from the state including the Pine Tree Development Zone program and state training programs."
Jacobson credits the Maine & Company team, Governor John Baldacci, Ken Young of the Kennebec Valley Council of Governments (KVCOG), Winthrop's Town Manager Cornell Knight and Carleton Mills facility owner Jamie Leblanc for responding to the needs of the NotifyMD management team.
NotifyMD provides after-hours messaging, business hour call management, automated patient-reminders and patient care compliance. NotifyMD's task management application, WebMessenger, allows physicians and staff to access their messages securely over the Internet using personal computers and wireless devices.
Based in Franklin, Tennessee, NotifyMD's client base encompasses 18,000 physicians in more than 40 states. The new Winthrop, Maine office will be the seventh NotifyMD call center. NotifyMD call center locations include: · Farmington, Maine · Moosic, Pennsylvania · St. Louis, Missouri · New Rochelle, New York · Livingston, New Jersey · Jacksonville, Florida
"Given recent events in the economy, coupled with the discontent in the delivery of traditional disease management services, 2008 should portend to be the tipping point for healthcare in 2009 and well beyond," said Dr. Ferguson. "NotifyMD's emergence of products that serve as the voice and data communications connective tissue linking patients, physicians, hospitals and health plans together will redefine this delivery."
